CHAIRMAN�S REPORT 2004-2005
- Having been placed 2nd in
the Best Kept Small Village Competition in 2003, we won the
competition in 2004. This was our 7th award.
- There were the normal three Ordinary
General Meetings, which were held in April, October and January with the AGM
following the April meeting. There were two Extraordinary General Meetings
held during the year.
- We received another �Unqualified
Opinion� for our Accounts to March 31st, 2004.
- We have two village Landing Zones (LZ)
for helicopter casualty evacuation.
- We failed to recruit a Councillor, or indeed anyone from the village to sit
on the Cotswold Conservation Board.
- We have a beautiful new Minute Book for
the Parish Council Meetings made by R. Lane, Bookbinders, of Fakenham,
Norfolk.
- We now have a Salt Bin for the
village. It is sited at �Hicks Corner�.
- Mr. David Poulsom,
our Treasurer, has retired after 4½ years. We thank him for his excellent
work in obtaining such splendid audit reports. We welcome Captain John
Castle in his place.
- The Memorial Fountain on the Green,
which belongs to the Parish, has been re-engraved. We are very grateful to
Mr. and Mrs. Cathie for having this done so well.
- Our Barton Village website (www.bartonontheheath.co.uk)
is now up and running. Please contact Mrs. Linda Graham (bartonvillage@btinternet.com)
for any inputs you think would be beneficial to the village.
- We have appointed a new Clerk, Mrs. Doreen
Richardson. We thank Mrs. Linda Graham very much for all that she did for
us.
