The Bird Memorial
The new water pipe-laying, which has been going on for several months is now complete. Before leaving the Severn Trent engineers kindly laid a lateral from the main pipe towards the drinking trough, which is part of the RWM Bird memorial on the village green. In due course the Parish Council will arrange for the lateral to be connected to the drinking trough, thus ensuring water there for both domestic and wild animal passers by.
The Parish Council arranged for the memorial to be thoroughly cleaned and de mossed recently.
The work was carried out by Mr. Richard Podd the stone mason.

St Lawrence Church
The Animal service took place on 13 May. Sadly it could not take place on the green as rain threatened. Instead it was held in the coach house, kindly lent by the Cathie family. The Reverend Richard Burn officiated and the ever faithful Alan Fisher played his electric organ. During the service, Katie Ward and a school friend played the Greensleeves Air in great style on their flutes. The animal kingdom was represented by dogs, big and small, smooth and hairy, well behaved and wicked, noisy and silent. They added great enjoyment to this happy occasion.
