BARTON-ON-THE-HEATH PARISH COUNCIL MINUTES

OF AN ORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

HELD ON FRIDAY 19th MAY 2006 AT 7.00 PM

IN THE OLD PAROCHIAL CHURCH SCHOOL

Present                  Councillors: Brigadier Rickett (Chairman), Lt Col Henderson (Vice Chairman),

Mrs Pelcynski, Mrs Cathie, Mrs Hayman-Joyce, Mr Shipton (Internal Auditor).

Members of the Public: Mr Pelcynski, Mrs Westbury, Mr Line, Mr Poulsom, Mr & Mrs Graham, Mr Grimshaw, Rev R Burn, Mrs Henderson, Mr Hayman-Joyce, Mrs Rickett, Councillor Saint and Councillor Gray.

The Chairman opened the meeting at 7pm.

 

2.        Minutes of the Extraordinary General Meeting of 24th February 2006

Matters arising: The Grant given to the St Lawrence Parish Church, which was taken as a separate item.  The minutes of this meeting were agreed and signed by the Chairman.

 

3.        Grant to St Lawrence PCC

After a heated discussion it was decided to grant £391.68 (the free resource) as a compromise solution to the St Lawrence PCC.  The PCC must inform the PC of its intentions as to what the grant should be spent on before monies are released.  A unanimous vote of support for this compromise solution was shown from the floor of the meeting.

 

4.        Any Planning Matters

Nil.

 

5.        Best Kept Village Competition 2006

The Chairman stated that he has written to many people in the village asking for their help in tidying up the village.  The Churchyard will also be judged as part of this competition rather than having a separate competition in its own right as in past years.  There will be a final cleaning up day on Saturday 27th May to finish off those tasks, which had not been completed. RV 1000 hrs at the Village Green.

 

6.        Polling Day 4th May 2006

The Chairman announced that although there hadn’t been an election as such as, no other candidates had put themselves up for election, the present five councillors were therefore de facto elected, unopposed.

 

7.        Any Other Business

The Chairman announced that the diversion order for footpath SS99 in the area of North Lodge had been confirmed.  A map of the new route is enclosed.

 

8.        Date of Next Meeting

Friday 13th October 2006 at 7.00pm.
