BARTON-ON-THE-HEATH PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES OF AN ORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL on 1st June 2012 at 7pm

District Councillor S Gray

1. Apologies: Brigadier J F Rickett (Chairman), Mrs D Pelczynski

2. The Minutes of the Ordinary General Meeting on the 16th March 2012 were approved, and the Chairman signed them.

3. Financial matters: The Hon Treasurer reported The Hon treasurer reported that the first precept payment had been received and that he had made two payments, for maintenance, totalling £215. The Council noted his report.

4. Any Other Business:

a) Planning: The Vice-Chairman reported than an Extraordinary General Meeting would be called to discuss the planning application made by Mr E Hicks. Mr Hicks said he would be happy to answer any questions once the Councillors had had a chance to study the submitted plans. He also said that he had amended the plans since the last meeting, in line with the comments made at the meeting.

Mrs Cathie asked Councillor Gray if the new planning guidance would affect Mr Hicks’ application, and Mr Gray said it would not, and also said that if the Parish Council supported the application, it was extremely important for them to make their support very clear in their response to Stratford District Council.

b) The Hon. Treasurer reported on Superfast Broadband, and the possibility of bringing it to the Parish. He asked the Parish Council for their endorsement to ask Barton residents to complete a questionnaire, and the Councillors agreed. He stressed the importance of all residents filling out the questionnaire when it is circulated, to prove the need for faster broadband in the village.
